                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE DOWNTOWN
                   AREA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN,
                   FROM 6:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, MAY 20, 1993 TO
                   8:00 P.M. ON SUNDAY, MAY 23, 1993 FOR THE
                   PRESENTATION OF "ARTSTRAVAGANZA 1993"
                   SPONSORED BY THE CHATTANOOGA DOWNTOWN
                   ALLIANCE, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                   
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of northbound Broad Street between 8th Street
       and M. L. King Boulevard beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May
       20, 1993 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 1993 and the 
temporary
       closing of M. L. King Boulevard between Georgia Avenue and Market 

       Street from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 1993 for
       the presentation of "ARTstravaganza 1993" under the sponsorship 
of
       the Chattanooga Downtown Partnership.  The sponsors are
       responsible for the installation and removal of all traffic
       control devices (such as cones, barricades, signs, etc.) in
       accordance with the traffic control plan attached hereto and 
shall
       provide an access lane for emergency vehicles at all times.
